DESCRIPTION:Since 2013 the Free Software Foundation Europe has been fightin
 g for the right users have to choose and use their own routers and modems.
  After the successful  for net neutrality in Europe in 2015\, users in Eur
 ope have the right to freely choose routers and modems to access the Inter
 net. Router Freedom is the standard\, empowering users to control their de
 vices with clear advantages for security\, privacy and ecological footprin
 t. \n\nNow\, challenges on national implementation of the European rules w
 ill put this right under risk. In parallel new demands are being posed aga
 inst commercial practices involving software that is sold with hardware by
  default\, for instance operating system in laptops\, browsers and app sto
 res. \n\nThe talk will provide an overview on the recent successes for rou
 ter freedom and the legal challenges against net neutrality in Europe.
